This is so late that it is embarrassing, but I just found your email address. I had
been meaning to write ever since the wedding to say how wonderful the hog roast was
and all the extra food you cooked for it as well. All the guests greatly praised
your cooking. I would also like to praise the way you and your wife organised

We used 'Challas' to cater for almost 60 people at a birthday party at our house.
Everyone raved about how good the food was. The service was first class too - Mark
arrived with us at 5pm, set up and started to cook the food, served it at 9.30 &
left about 11pm - taking all the rubish, plates & cutlery with him, so no mess & no
worries. We just had to enjoy the party!!!

It speaks volumes that, not only will we definitely use Challas again for large
parties like this, but that many of our guests who were here that night also will!!!

We had a party for over 100 on the day after our daughter's wedding. Our chef Mark
arrived spot on time, fully equipped and was a pleasure to have around. Despite

Apologies for taking so long to send in a testimonial but I couldn't let the
occasion go by without saying how impressed we were with Charl. We hired Challas
Roast for a surprise 80th birthday party. Charl arrived as a gale force wind took
hold and I was running round like a headless chicken. I barely spoke to him as I
was so stressed with organising the party but he just got on with it, set up the
gazebo and started cooking. We had ordered a small hog for approx 50-60 people.
Even after 2nds and 3rds we had loads left which we all enjoyed even more the next
day. The flavours were wonderful and everyone raved about the food, my mum
especially loved the coleslaw. I now regard Challas Roast as my 'party piece' and
can't wait for an opportunity to hire them again.

"Anyone who comes and sets up in pouring rain without a grumble has to be a good
thing! Charl may not like our weather but his handling of our meat is second to
none. We had a pre-wedding BBQ at home at the end of August (it did dry up!) and
everyone is still talking about the quality of the food, we had 50 ish many of
whom are serious carnivores and there will still be some spectacular Shepherds
Pies this autumn! It was so easy, Charl did everything, we all had a wonderful
evening with no pressure at all and were able to enjoy our guests - then he
tidied up and just left us with the very tasty left-overs. We could not

Hi Charl,

This is the second time we have had you cook for a party and second time round was
equally as good as the first time.

We had a baptism/birthday party planned for Sunday and Scot arrived early and
got started as soon as he arrived - rain, wind and the cold would not stop him.

When we all came back from church you could smell the delicious food even at the top
of the road - it was fantastic. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the chicken,
pork and vegetarian fayre - what could be nicer.

We had a hassle free party and were able to spend time with family and friends
without worrying about the food which was
great.

To Whom it may concern,
We had Challas roast take care of the food for my Mother's 60th Birthday Party. They
were a very professional outfit. The large Spit roast machine with separate barbeque
under a pagoda really added to the overall atmosphere. Everyone commented on how
tender the meat was! It went down very well! A few of us got together the next
day(Sunday) and continued eating the nicely packaged doggy bags from the event!
We were very happy with them and will be using them again when the occasion calls
for it.

Everyone enjoyed the event and the food as usual was great, we had the "Hoender
Sosaties" marinated chicken curry skewers with apricot & red onion, Boere wors -
South African style beef sausages with sweet chilli sauce, Pork sausages with home
made marinade, vegetarian skewers with olive oil and home made veggie spices
Coleslaw and Green salad.

There was a great selection of salads and skewers, overall it all looked and tasted
great, we will definitely be using this service again for any future events.

whole experience was very positive and very simple. The caterers organised
everything. The food was fantastic, as was the service and we had lots of comments
afterwards saying how good the food had been.

When I was planning my wife's 50th birthday I wanted a night to remember. We chose
the venue carefully, invited the right crowd and arranged the music to make sure
everyone would enjoy themselves. That left the catering. What do you give a crowd
that has seen it all before? Well you certainly took care of that! You did surprise
me with the extent of what was available for all tastes - even the veggies. Booking
was simple then your follow up call dispelled any lingering concerns. The rest was
simply a wonderful experience. You arrived on time with the most amazing roasting
machine, tables, dishes and everything required. You then prepared and cooked! The
meat, salads, bread, wraps and all the little extras were all I could have hoped
for. That was not all. When the meal was over and the dancing started you managed to
clear the room of all debris and disappear into the night without anyone noticing.
Excellent feedback from 75 people Charl listing catering very highly on the total
success of the night. We will do business again with your mixed meats . Oh the
dressings.......

I booked Challas Spit Roast for a Christmas function at our Church. This is
an annual event for the whole family. We had 200 people attending from the
very youngest to the very oldest. It was a fantastic event and was made
even more fantastic by the beautiful food which Charl provided. We had had
the pork spit roast and the meat was just delicious. What everyone was
talking about was the amazing food, the meat being so yummy, tasty potatoes
and the beautiful sauces. Charl arrived at the Church at 2pm to set up and
cooked everything from fresh. You walked into the hall and just smelt the
tasty pork cooking and it just looked beauitful cooking. Charl was
fantastic and had a real good personality when serving the food, everyone
was so impressed with how friendly he was and how he spent time speaking to
people rather than just serving food. Challas Spit Roast is fantastic,
tasty and excellent! Highly recommended!

I had Challas Roast booked for my Cowboy/Inidian party for my husband's 40th. It was a special event and was made even more special by the efforts
of Charl. The highlight of the evening was definitely the food. Charl arrived at

would have melted in your mouth. The meat not only looked fabulous and smelt

lamb glazed with a special marinade, roast potatoes cooked in the meat juices, side

It was our 25th wedding party and we wanted something a little different. Charl
arrived mid afternoon and prepared everything from scratch. We had the beef and
pork which was beautifully flavoured and melt in your mouth, the salads, sauces and

youth leaders at the end of our summer scheme. Charl and Sarah were very
helpful in organising the event, giving us a range of options. We went for
the Mixed Beef and pork for 65 adults and young people. Marty was great to

hassle free. The food was fantastic, everyone had more than enough to eat
